Like you, I want to make sure whatever I get will automap, or at least stay consistent on what knobs, faders, pads do and that will be independent of what the keys do. I've been contemplating getting a novation nocturn, or even another model that uses the automap, mainly like you said, to evade the whole programming issues I'm having with my current controller (cme).

Feeling more confident with the Nocturn 49 but beans for 49 keys is kinda steep, with the CME UF5 with the firewire expansion i can use it as an interface for live apps, instead of hauling my firestudio around, and how are they keys? Sorry for all the questions with no answers for you

My main reason is to replace the 3 different controllers that i have and have a smaller keyboard right on front of the puta that controlls transport and faders, is yours working this way? I have an mo6 that i mainly use for midi the keys only, otherwise as a control surface it does the same thing as victoriousmusic is experiancing. Hey techno not to steal the thread but,I am looking at the uf5 right now and debating whether it is worth getting it, if i cant get it to work in reaper i dont want it, specifically the transport and the faders, i see your issue with the encoders sorry i cant help you out with it but iam getting rid of my padkontrol, faderport, nocturn, keyrig, originally to get the new novation nocturn 49, the automap is incredible and it actually has a map for reaper probably one of the first controllers that does, but i stumbled unto the CME UF5 with the firewire expansion for much cheaper then the nocturn. So if I let Reaper listen to all midi-channels then after linking on fader, all faders control the same parameter. I can link the rotary knobs without a problem but the faders all send the same controller BUT on different midi-channels (probably to be used as a mixer-controller). It has 8 rotary controllers and 8 faders. I tried to setup controller mapping from my CME UF5 keyboard.
